56 peace corps colunteers including myself arrived in Lima, Peru on the 12th after about 20 hours of travel delays. shuttled through mist and moutnaint we arrived sleepy-eyed in Chaclacayo. In our resort (a word I hesitat to use because it implies luxury) we were encouraged to rest becasue training would begin promptly at 8:30am.
We were fortunate enough to enjoy hot showers and warm beds in cool rooms.
I love the weather. The cool mist and warm sun bring my skin much joy.
My fascination for traveling has clouded my vision of the next two years of my life. It seems like it wil be so long, but I cann not feel the time come or go. I am just here now. Writing this i realize that this is quite a move from my norm. My only assignhment is to be present and absorb. I have thrown all of my energy and compassion into absorbing this country.
