The three goals of the Peace Corps:

1. Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
2. Helping promote a better understanding of Americans in the part of the peoples served.
3. Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.


While the last two days have been filled with the Peace Corps elaboration on their expectations of us, I feel like no one expects anything of me.



Through exploring these emotions I came to a discovery. The expectations they hae a r within me. I feel that just by being myself and doing what I want to naturally do, I will fulfill their desires. And, if for some strange reason I am not able to produce change or benefit just by living here for two years, I cannot avoid teaching the way of the American or learning the way of the Peruvian.

All I need to do is be.
