Two nights ago I got violently ill, yet again. I had to
cancel VALE and spend about 2 entire days and nights in bed sleeping.
But, I crawled out of bed today to do a back to back VALE
session to play catch up. Today we had about 40 kids come through. I opened
with, “I don’t feel well today, so please be patient and nice to me.” A phrase
that children really respond to, especially if they can see it in your sunken
eyes and pale face. They were very well behaved. Carrying in their water bucket
to wash their hands and sitting, reading, quietly.
My favorite part was when one kid took the “Beasts” books
and held it up to show his friend on the ware wolf page. All he did was howl.
Then his friend howled back. Then a few more kids chimed in. Perhaps there is a
ware wolf population in madrigal that I am unaware of…
