I was very nervous waking up this morning because three of my “bosses” from Peace Corps were coming to visit. They just want to see that I am alive and working and make sure the city is happy with me. I have to say the visit was encouraging, and Marium had some good ideas on how I can build a shower in our bathroom using local materials.
They brought with them all my forwarded mail from Lima. It was unbelievable. I was showered in letter after letter from family and friends. You people, are completely remarkable, loving, creative, and everything else I can’t put into words. Everything you wrote gives me endless amounts of power. Your letters are kind of like energy drinks. Like those stupid red bull commercials, “it gives you wings!”. You crazy folk said such marvelous and inspiring statements you have me thinking I could sprout a couple new appendages right now and fly all over this beautiful canyon.
Even your little stories of what you have been up to in the past couple months soothe me. Just because you thought to write down this experience and send it to me makes me feel a part of it, and I can’t thank you enough for that. Lord knows I think of you everyday.
Your letters are papering my adobe walls and it feels great!
